Will Smith congratulates Joyner Lucas from Worcester on his tribute song to the acting career, ‘I love what you did’
Joyner Lucas covered it all with the release of a tribute song, “Will,” in honor of actor Will Smith on Wednesday.
It’s not hard to pay homage to “Men in Black” but Lucas even took “Sharktale” from the actor’s resume.
The Worcester rapper not only used words, but posted a video where he followed in his idol’s footsteps. Lucas dressed as a “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”. Explosions appeared behind him like “Bad Boys”. He dressed as a man in black and wore a “Wild Wild West” cowboy hat. Lucas fought an “I-Robot”, pursued “happiness” and spoke of “concussion”. He even dressed like a blue genie and voiced a “Sharktale”.
“I learned a lot from him and I have to. Homie is my idol and I don’t even know it, ”Lucas says in the song.
The four-minute video already has over 3 million views on YouTube. One of them was Smith, who posted a snippet of it to his 43 million Instagram followers while praising Lucas.
“This joint is crazy. Dude, I’m honored and honored, ”Smith said. “One of the lines you say in there, ‘You inspire people and you don’t even know it.’ It was my intention from day one to really go out into the world and just put in some positive energy and be able to use my designs to inspire, uplift and empower. I love what you did.
Smith also said he hopes to meet Lucas one day.
Not only does Lucas perform scenes from the Smith movies, the rapper also lists all of the song’s titles.
“I feel like I’m dreaming, I’m counting all my blessings, I’m really delighted. I know “I Am Legend” or one in the making, ”Lucas says in the song.
